AN IDEAL SPACE FOR BUSINESS ARCHITECTURE, 2002-2004 As a general rule, contemporary business buildings rely on a modernist rather than post-modern conception of architecture. The heritage of an excessive formalism leads to architectural objects that are thought as independent pure forms without other relationship to their surroundings than the idea of visual domination. The following works try to invent an ideal space where this kind of architecture could be viewed as it should be, a space where nothing interferes with its forms. And since the sky is perhaps the only environment that the "glass & iron" architecture refers to, I made the decision to use the sky from each original shot as an envelope for the buildings. |
